We had a little too much fun in the Rockefeller Center gift shop. They had this HUGE section of musical greeting cards and ... well ...
... we ate at the Citgo. Nope. I'm not kidding. Fried chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese, and we sat in a small booth in the back of the store with a scenic view of the diesel pumps.
Mm-hmm.
I've been experiencing severe pain in my right jaw joint -- SEVERE. I've been treating it with anti-inflammatory and a ... modest ... amount of whining. But I talked to my mother this afternoon and she suggested that this is likely due to me grinding my teeth at night, which is often the result of stress. Hmm. I don't feel particularly stressed. But with the good faith that my mother is usually right, I am now dedicated to making myself de-stress.
So while I was out doing some Christmas shopping today, I had a stroke of brilliance! I decided to invest in my new commitment to de-stressing. So I bought a fluffy feather pillow and 450-thread-count sheets. Absolutely necessary. For my recovery, of course. Absolutely.
Mmmm ... I should be resting nicely tonight ...
So I might be a little slow. But someone showed me this the other day, and I just HAD to share! Just watch it.
What's on your holiday wishlist?
Oh, goodness ...
A GPS system for my car, a new iPod, a set of pearls, money for my trip to EUROPE!!, a gift certificate for a massage (or several), mooooooovies (the last LOTR, The Holiday, A Beautiful Mind, etc.), anything from my Mikasa registry, a new set of pedals for my piano, those darn shoes that I can't find, Mellow Mushroom delivery (it could happen), TV series on DVD (Sex and the City, Friends), GAMES ... lots and lots of games, a little something from Tiffany's, or ... you know ... anything from my Amazon wishlist ...
Now, what do YOU want??
Spent a good couple hours Sunday night making reindeer cookies. I think they turned out quite well:
(They taste good, too!)
Just got the following notice from our office building's management:
As many of you have noticed, there have been protestors outside of the 1875 Tower over the past two days. The name of the protesting group or Union is known as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters.
The Union has an on-going labor dispute with a sub-contractor working in the 1875 tower. Please be advised that we are doing everything possible to minimize disruption to your business day.
Well, my desk is a few yards from that side of the building. The view from a nearby window looks down to the pacing protesters below. I can certainly hear the drums and chanting (even 9 stories up), but I wouldn't say it's disrupting my workday. Shmay. In go the earbuds and on goes the music ...
Oh, the joys of working in downtown DC.

UPDATE: They brought out the rat!!
... as an insignificant detail.
